L Morgan Lee made history as the first openly trans actor to be nominated for a Tony Award® for her luminous performance in A STRANGE LOOP, a groundbreaking moment for representation on Broadway. That same role earned her a Drama League nomination, following an acclaimed Off-Broadway run that brought her an Obie Award, a Lucille Lortel nomination, and the distinction of being the first trans actor to originate a role in a Pulitzer Prize–winning work of theater.
